How we make money
Prep For Outage is supported by affiliate commissions. When you click a link to a retailer or brand and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra.
Commissions do not change what we write. We explain the trade offs, and we say when a product category is a poor fit. We do not sell products directly, and we have not tested the products mentioned. Information comes from each maker's own pages, which are the final word on price, specifications and availability.
Links marked as sponsored may be affiliate links. Product prices and availability change often.
Disclosure rules by country
United States: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) expects clear disclosure of material connections, such as affiliate commissions, close to the recommendation. We disclose on every page footer and here.Canada: Canadian advertising standards (including Ad Standards guidance and the Competition Bureau's rules on misleading advertising) expect clear disclosure of paid or commission-based endorsements. We disclose on every page footer and here.
Retailer terms, product availability, warranties, shipping and taxes differ between Canada and the US, so we link to each region's own store where one exists. This page is general information, not legal advice.
